Belt misrouted, any long-term issues?

I opted to have my indy swap my alternator. I picked up the car and it had strange power steering noises. The belt was misrouted around the top idler, then down to the tensioner, then the alternator instead of idler down to alternator, then back up to the tensioner. I'm surprised the belt fit this way. I can't recall if it's the long or short belt. I thought short so perhaps they tried to put it on as a long and then ran out of length. Doubt Saab thought to account for that possibility. This isn't confidence inspiring as to the rest of the job being done well. Indy is ok, but one guy who works there does stupid things like this. He's recently been rehired. If only the indy would pay his helper more. Or I could find a Saab indy that is local.
It's been driven less than 10 miles. I figure perhaps the tensioner is messed up. I planned to change it anyway. I suppose the belt could be damaged from any slipping? There's about 33k/44 months on the belt.
