We have a drawtite and it is fine.
What was the main intended use? We've been hanging bikes off the back on a hitch rack, and to be honest, this car is not great for that. Too much load on the suspension, even with only 3 bikes + rack. The back end sags. I've actually had the bottom of the hitch rack scrape pavement before (transitioning into and out of driveways/parking lots with slope changes).
Basically, be aware of the loading limitations of the rear suspension of the 9-5. Class 2 vs class 1 may actually be irrelevant.
