Thanks for the tips. The main intended use would be for the same things I used the hitch on my 2000 9-3. A bike carrier (surprised to hear you had issues with 3 bikes) and to tow a small utility trailer I have for bringing things home from the hardware store, etc. But since the 9-5 is rated at more towing capacity with a trailer with brakes than the 9-3, I was hoping it could also tow my '71 Sonett III when I want to take it with me to car shows. I have seen photos of people in Europe using 9-5 SportCombis to tow small travel trailers or small trailers with a Saab 96 or Sonett, so I assumed that would work if I have the right hitch and trailer.
