Coolant expansion tank

2006 9-5 sport 80K. I recently replaced the thermostat & the engine temp sensor to deal with my A/c dropping out when the temp would suddenly fall off. The a/c works fine now but I have noticed that the coolant expansion tank will hold pressure overnight. Nothing tremendous but when I open the tank there is a pressure release. I am not losing any fluid yet and when I changed the thermostat the coolant was in good shape - no brown gook - just clean coolant. Could this be a sign of a bad coolant bypass valve or something worse?
