As far as I can tell, the horn will work if I hold the pad down long enough and work it. It will get more responsive, but not it doesn't reliably work when needed. For that reason, dealer replaced PN 4847869, Cable Network 5200. That didn't help other than going in there and fiddling fixes things for a bit, possibly by working off oxidation. That happened when I took those photos.
There is light corrosion on the aluminum airbag housing back so it's plausible this is a corrosion problem on the horn button. I'm near the ocean and cars suffer here. A Saab indy in another ocean area mentioned corrosion limiting the ground to me as something to look for. I don't think this corrosion is on contacts. It's on the bare metal of the horn button, screws, springs, etc. I'm just not clear as to how the button works so I don't know what exactly to clean.
I could use some form of oxidation remover (not sure which DeoxIT would be correct) instead of an abrasive. Elsewhere people used emery cloth. What would that harm?
