We've been over this before. SAAB has made changes to the way the CD changer is connected to the audio system so that only SAAB CD changers will work. To sum up, everything is connected via a LAN system, and the CD changer has to be "married" to the car stereo via Tech2 for it to work. Thus, it will not work in any other SAAB, even if removed and placed in another 9-3 or 9-5 (unless it is "divorced" properly).
This is the way it has been for all current 9-3 and 9-5 models. The NG900 audio system doesn't work this way, so aftermarket Clarion CD changers can be hooked up.
Thus, be careful about buying a used 9-3/9-5 CD changer from ebay that has not been properly "divorced"-you won't be able to use it in your car. Caveat emptor!
