Just a quick follow-up to say that the oil pressure sender was a very straight-forward job on my 2003 V6/3.0. This is a very low-level DIY.
After jacking up the front passenger side and removing the wheel and part of the wheel liner, the sensor is incredibly easy to access directly inside the wheel liner and below one of the pulleys. 24mm deep socket to R&R the sender, and then a zip tie needed to secure the extra wire to the sensor itself to avoid being tangled in the moving parts around it.
Maybe 30 minute job total. No more exhaust/diesel smell inside the car! As a side note, the intensity of the smell increased steadily over perhaps 6 months or so.
