So in summary, it seems that Saab drivers pick Saab (at least the recent ones) do so becase:

They mostly want to be different, get a semi-snobbish car (i.e. not "soul-less Jap....anese cars), but not toooo snobbish like the BMW/Audi drivers.

They want to brag about utility and function of their car, but can't stand sharing the road with cars thats bigger than theirs.

It seems that most people buy what they want because the car seems to give them the feeling of safety/size/speed/public preception. Saab buyers wants nothing to do with "most people" because they're better? (Or atleast think they're better.)

Anyways, heres my story:

I want a decent driving car that has a little bit of snob appeal, but can't buy Honda/Acura cuz I work for an American car company in a very American community. I can't afford a BMW or an Audi. The fully loaded 9-3 costed me $25600 out the door.

Upgraded the sound, (so I can't hear the squeaks in the armrest, dash, doors when I make hard turns, and the rear seats almost constantly).
Will add the SAS Sway Bar so I can turn with a bit less roll.
I will continue to think that I will get 30+ miles/gal @ ~70mph when I break in the engine (at 2800 and I only get 28 or so).

Of course, for $25600, I can't go wrong. (Execpt if I had waited 1.5 weeks, I could've got the base 9-5 for $1000 more..)

Oh well.
