One of the benefits of DIY detailing is that one gains intimate knowledge of every fault and foible of the car. In my case, I discovered that the PO of my '04 installed a lens protection product - STŌNGÄRD - on all six front lights (headlamp clusters, side light clusters, and fog lamps). Truth be told, the installation job was so good that I never noticed it from a distance. But up close, I figured it out and moreover, found some evidence of deterioration along the top left edge (see photos). For now, I've decided to leave it alone.
But if it gets worse, I'd appreciate advice on how to either: (a) refurbish it, or (b) remove it without causing damage to the lamp lenses underneath. Thanks in advance.
P.S. It's been a dozen years since this product was last discussed on this BB, and as far as I can tell, that product has been off the market as long. It appears that the company lost a legal skirmish with 3M http://static1.1.sqspcdn.com/static/f/106093/636921/1169089007690/3M+v.+Stongard+-+Opinion.pdf?token=eDyOHyc6fWtJaEIDYooq6TD9kM0%3D.
