First of all wax on a black car is doomed to fail

under even modest temps. The wax will melt off over a short period of time, esp in the summer. I have a black Aero and the trick is to prepare the paint and then apply a protective sealant that will stand up to the high temp a black car can generate. I have tried just about every type of wax there is and nothing beats Zaino. You'll need to put some time into it but if you do it right the car can look close to perfect.
1) Dawn wash (yes the dishwashing stuff) just to take everything off the paint
2) Claybar(optional)
3) 3M Swirl mark remover
4) at least 2 or 3 applications of Zaino Z-5.
Good luck
