I have been a long-time BMW enthusiast and have enjoyed the cars immensely. I purchased my new Aero in May and I love the car (just a few mods so far.. wheels/tires/exhaust). I was cross-shopping the 540i, the A6 2.7t and the Jag S-type w/ manual-sport package. The loaded 540i was 60K. I found a leftover 2001 and negotiated to 48K. I agonized over the decision - because the 540i is such an extraordinary car. On a whim, I stopped by the Saab dealership and they offered a loaded Aero for 35K. For the investment, the Saab was a no-brainer and I am very satisfied with the car (7K miles so far). Plus, my friend snapped up the 540i - so its nearby for drives. The Saab continues to impress - it loves to play - but coddles me on my 170 mile commutes.
Cheers to so damn many fine cars out there!!
Eric
PS - one of my former students used one of our computer modelling programs to bolster his financial consulting practice - became quite successful. He bought a new BMW M5 (with cash) and brought it by to show his old "prof". Made me think of selling the house...
