Thanks - Where is the BPV exactly?
I looked at my engine and I am guessing that the BPV is either one of two valves I can see.
First guess is near the top of the engine, above the turbo heat shield, a black valve hooked off the final air intake line near. It is a black plastic case valve that has BOSCH printed clearly on it and kind of looks like the BPV pictures from the Stramosphere web site, except it is plastic and looks much less durable. This valve looks like it contols an air intake line that would by pass the turbo when activated (and there must be feedback to the turbo to turn on or off the exhaust waste gate so that this valve and the turbo are not fighting each other).
It looks like this install would be very simple. The OEM Bosch valve does not looks nealy as strong or rugged as the Forge or Hyperboost valves.
My second guess is the valve down by the turbo hooked to the output of the turbo compressor. It is a brass or annodized aluminum colored valve that kind of looks like the BPV but this valve has a plunger that hooks to the exhaust side of turbo. I believe this plunger contorls the gate for incoming exhaust into the turbo. This valve has a very strong mount to the frame so the plunger can push against it and I don't see any where on the Forge or Hyperboost valves that a plunger would hook to. Also, this looks like a more than 5 minute mount to me.
Sorry for the ingorance but you have to start to learn sonewhere.
Any help on identifing the BPV would be great.
Frank
Sorry
