2001 saab 9-5 lpt wagon (approx 9000 miles)
Saturday 1:30 pm, driving back to DC from Baltimore on I-95 @ approx 75 mph, I tried to overtake a jaguar - after I did and merged into the left lane, I think I blew the front left tire (not sure of this) which caused me to fishtail, lose control of the vehicle - caused a crash that totalled a subaru and partly wrecked a lincoln town car along with my own. The good news - no one was hurt. (yeah - I'm glad I was driving a saab) The bad news - I caused it. So, I have some questions basically because I'm concerned about the long term impact this might have financially.
1. This is a leased vehicle which is less than a year old. Will my warranty be affected because of this wreck? How about any part of the lease term?
2. The car is badly damaged on the outside- but I think it is salvageable. Any advice on repair shops in the DC/VA area?
3. Anyone with any experience with Geico insurance? Although I was at fault, I had a pretty good driving record until now. Also, as mentioned before, I suspect it was the bad tire that caused this. I cannot be sure because i crashed into the cement barriers placed along the side of the road which totally destroyed the front left tire.
4. None of the airbags deployed. This, although the car took a bashing in the front, and both sides. Just curious about this. In fact, although the suburu took a much bigger beating (it was totalled), its airbags didn't deploy either.
Anyway, would appreciate any advice/comments from you folks out there.
