I put konis on my 9-5 arcs (yellow sports from Taliaferro). They are firmer but I like them. Comfort is less of a consideration for me. I will say that they do rust faster than I would expect - the paint is just ok. We are in the salt belt. I have well over 100k miles (and over 10 years) on one set and close to it on the other. You will also probably need to look at the ride height and use spacers to correct as well as possibly rear bushings. The rear suspension gets worn-out faster and sags. I put wagon springs in our sedan and that has definitely helped handle the abuse (I load them down quite a bit). I think some people have raised the ride height on aero models for similar reasons.
If I wanted the most economical comfort oriented setup, I'd probably use bilstein touring (I think b4)
