Hello Myles welcome to the board,A radio personality here in Maine used to have an AM radio sunday talk show called auto answers.It was on this show I learned about air bags that deploy slower and not as violently as what was typically installed on US cars.I asked my dealer and he said the SAAB was equiped with these air bags.Its not an answer to your question but i hope it helps.On older cars the impact of an air bag was compared to being punched by a Proffesional boxer and actually taking lives rather than saving them ,IN RARE CASES!!My 9 5 is the first car i own with air bags my `88 9000t didnt and i must admit at first i thought it might deploy while driving i dont even think about it anymore.Enjoy your car ED.
