The only problem other than the slightly smaller diameter (approximately 1.8 percent), would be the wheel width. As according to the specs at Tirerack, both the 215/55 16 and 225/50 16 have the same minimum rim width at 6 inches and IIRC the 16 inch wheels on the 9-5 are 6.5 inches, so this is no problem. The "Z" speed rating is a non-issue no matter what your dealer says.
The smaller diameter brings up a couple of issues:
1. Speedometer error, in this case on the high side, speedometer reading 1.8 percent faster than it did before, this is not much of a problem, about 1 mph at 60, so you will be going 59 when it reads 60 or 98 when it reads 100.
2. There will also be almost negligable affects on acceleration and fuel milage, the acceleration about 1.8 percent better. The fuel milage will slip a tad, how much I can't guess, there are too many variables, increased internal friction because the engine and driver train are turning revolutions per mile, increased drag because of wider tires and reduced drag because the car is lower.
