Your dealer is blowing smoke regarding the speed rating. YOu are not violating anything by going to a higher speed rating, but had you gone the other way, that would be different. The size difference can also be corrected by having your dealer's technician hook up a tech2 and adjusting your odometer and speedometer to accept the 225/50 tire size. Not sure why you did not go with the 225/40 aspect ratio, but in any case this can be corrected electronically.
Leasing companies can be pretty tough on you for not turning in your car with the EXACT tire type and rating, so if you plan on turning the car in with these tires, you might get some static from them.
