If your old tires were worn evenly, and the car drives well, I don't think you need an alignment. I hit a brick at 70 MPH in my '89 when it was only three months old, it destroyed the tire and cut into the alloy wheel. The Saab folks told me not to worry, Saabs are built tough. Never had an alignment, or a problem. I am on my fourth set of tires on my '95, and never had an alignment. Never needed one. Personally I wouldn't trust the tire places to do it. Ask your dealer for their recommendation.
