I think it says in my owner's manual that its not necessary, but it doesn't say not to get it. The corrosion protection on new vehicles these days is outstanding, I agree, but additonal measures can only help in my opinion- with the exception of when the undercoating isn't applied properly trapping moisture between the body and the coating. I'm not sure what you mean by "you've just opened up body cavities to air and water, meaning rust" please elaborate...
I also agree that leather is durable and easy to clean. That's one of my reasons for buying leather (no choice on a 9-5 now actually) but free cleaning or replacement of damaged interior sounded good to me.
The real reason I got all of this stuff was because of the paint sealer- I hate waxing my cars- and with a station wagon, there's that much more to wax. With the package they offered, all three were about 100 bucks more than just one so the best deal was all three.
I realize that any "free" repairs I might get from the interior would probably be worth less than what I paid for the entire package- but as I said above I wanted the paint sealer.
Also, I may not see any direct increase in value from the undercoating, but I still believe that a 10 year old car with undercoating (especially in Canada) will be in much better condition and therefore it will be worth more.
One final reason- I'd just worked out a deal on my Aero whereas I would be saving about 13 grand off the retail price and I liked the sound of the packages so I didn't really care about another 10 bucks a month on my payments.
