Common misconceptions, good premise..... 1. Lease support is only $3,000 on Aeros's
2. Most'02 Saabs? Or '02's of all brands. With Saab it's goofy. Prices are headed back up on Sept 3rd and there are no '03's yet. What you say depends on the supply more than anything, but dealers wouldn't stay in business if most cars were sold below invoice.
3. Saab compensates lower residuals with even lower rates at the end of the year so the lease payments on Aero's are as low as they have ever been. Lease payments will go up at least 15% on the new '03's, so in my mind now's the time.
But I agree with your subject line, not the "best" deal possible, but a dealer in New Mexico certainly can't expect to make it up in volume like in other larger markets.
In the bigger picture, pretty amazing payments already considering $42k MSRP, accessories included, and zero drive offs including tax. Definitely not a big profit for the dealer. Can you see a remote dealer wanting to make a thousand or two on a car instead of a couple of hundred? Especially when with Saab leases you don't make any finance profit or "back end" to balance a low profit on the unit itself or the "front end".
