when it's snowing or below freezing outside, washing a car isn't exactly something one would have in mind.
I take good care of our cars but not to the extreme of not driving them through salted roads or washing/waxing them after a drive.
If you can find a coin operated car wash, just take it in for a rinse to take the salt off. I do use drive through car wash places. Some of these places are not that bad, just need to find the better ones where you live. It's a trade off between having salt on the car or swirl marks on the paint, your call :-).
Modern cars don't rust easily. Give you car a nice cleaning and a coat of wax before winter starts. Periodic coats of those instant wax maybe a good preventive measure in between winter washes.
Then repeat after me, it's only September, it's only September....
