I went from a string of Lexus' (LS400, SC300, GS300) to a 9-5 SE (V-6, same as Arc) last year. To address your points:

1. I live in the South, so snow traction is not that important to me but conventional wisdom says that ground clearance and tires make a bigger difference than four wheel drive. ALL cars have four wheel drive brakes and they still get into trouble!

2. Get a tape measure. Since I came from the sedans, I am thrilled with the storage space of the wagon.

3. The complement of gadgets is pretty similar. I miss the auto-up and auto-down that the GS had on all four windows. You can't get ventilated seats (they are terriffic!) in a RX or GS. You can't get the Night Panel or the air conditioned glove box in the Lexus either, but I have found no use for either.

The cup holder is just like that in the old Lexus coupes. It's not quite as flimsy as it looks, but you can't carry a cell phone or a "big gulp" in one either. There is an additional cupholder inside the center console which requires you to keep the console open which renders it totally useless, IMO.

I agree that the other interior storage space (cubbys and whatnot) is lacking - but did you notice the little pockets at the front of the seat cushions?

Regarding price: Saabs are sold with huge incentives so the GM Supplier price is pretty much offered to everyone. You just won't have to negotiate as hard. Maybe you can do better(?)

Good luck with your decision.
