$4000 difference is not much...

Considering how much lower the death and injury
rate is in a SAAB Wagon compared to a VW Passat...
I think the extra safety is worth it, but then again
some people are convinced that they will never have
a car crash... (all to often it's other people that crash
into to you...)
Considering how expensive a lenghty stay at a hospital
can be, a lost job, lost income and all the medical
expenses... $4000 is a cheap insurance plan.
One more thing... being from Europe... VW Passats sold here
are made in Germany, those in the USA mainly made in Mexico
and there are some huge differences in rust protection and
quality of parts. SAABs are made in Sweden.
Consider all that and pick your choice. As I have seen quite
a few nuked Passat in real and on TV... I would pay nor more
then $18'000 for a fully loaded one with a 10 year warranty and
service included.
Regards,
Coolknight
