There are no detrimental effects of adding a carnuba wax over a polymer. Synthetics bond to the surface of the car and will last considerably longer than natural protectants. The carnuba will just make the car shine and gleam.

The marketing dept is responsible for the "life of the car" guarantee. What I can guarantee is that after 4 or 5 years you will not like the look of your finish. What does the guarantee state? Will they repaint the car if the finish isn't shiny after 4 years? No way.

If you want the "best" for the look and protection of your car's finish, use a ploymer (Klasse or there are lots of others) once every six months and every 3-4 months apply a coat of carnuba. It will protect your car better than whatever the substance the dealer applys. You'll save hundereds of dollars and your car will always look as though the finish is brand new. I guarantee the "one time for life" application will not look anywhere near the same.

Why do I know this? Because I purchased a dealer applied sealant several years ago for my BMW 7 Series. After a year and a half the car's finish needed polishing and shining. The polymer was still there, but the shine was gone ad I had to clay, polish and poly the car myself to get the shine back. Remember, the dealer poly was still there.

So from now on, I do it myself and my cars look new after 4-5 years, even in Chicago.
