I have a weird problem with my 2001 Saab 95 2.3 LPT, which has about 33K miles. This problem seems to have started after the dealer switched out a defective turbo (the classic blue smoke problem).

What happens is the engine surges, and the turbo gauge dances wildly about, staying in the white zone. It sometimes gets quite violent. Here are the symptoms.

1) It always happens 5-10 minutes after startup.
2) It goes away after another 10 minutes.
3) It is most noticeable at idle although it can be felt at speed with neutral throttle.
4) It only has happened since they switch out the turbo.

The dealer cleaned out part of the intake system to solve the issue, but this did not work. They also ran a diagnostic against the engine management system, but found nothing.

Any help would be appreciated.
