...but I will admit that it is tough in the aero (I have a 2002) and the roof is so low that it makes it tough getting our son in and out. Center is by far the safest and I think statistically the passenger side rear is second safest. Try not to place the child behind the driver if you can.
We have our second on the way and when he/she arrives in early January I will put the newborn in the center and our son (who will be 2) on the passenger side.
We have a few different seats including the Britax and have had no issues with them in the aero (sedan). Our Suburban is the primary family machine though...
