Someone was following behind me at lunch today and mentioned there was some black smoke coming from the tailpipe when I shifted. I've looked at the tailpipe and it appears to be much sootier (is that a word?) than it should be. I'm going to try and swap cars with someone after work so I can see it first hand. Are my turbo seals starting to go? Anyone else had this problem? I've heard of smoke on startup, but this is new to me... I also thought the bad turbos were the lpt variety. Anyone get a bad turbo with the HOT?
