For a manufacturer that is so obsessed (or at least their marketing department) with safety, you would think that they could have come up with a better DRL system than simply running the headlights.
Short headlight bulb life and extra drag on the electrical system (affects both alternator life and fuel economy) are just two of the negative side effects of Saab's design. Try driving at night with burned out headlights for a real lesson in safety!
Other GM divisions have come up with effective mid-powered DRL systems that do the job without compromising other aspects of the lighting system. Why can't Saab?
