Dear Alice,
Even if your Trionic readjusts itself, you may very well still
experience pronounced turbo lag in hot weather especially if you have
Air-Conditioning on. Air-Conditioning will removing heat from cabin
but will be emitting heat in engine compartment, and radiator will be
removing heat and emitting it in engine compartment. Your intercooler is
suffering from the ambient heat as well as heat emitted from aforementioned
components.
The two recommended tricks to remedying this problem are resetting
Trionic (by unplugging battery) or getting a more capable intercooler.
If you drive LPT, you could get yourself an Aero intercooler. If you
drive an Aero, I believe that there is an even more capable intercooler
you can purchase.
Regardless, I don't think you have anything to worry about.
In the future, it is better to state as many facts and circumstances
as possible so that we can make an accurate diagnosis. So, your
mentioning of battery failure was important in this case :-)
thanks
Jae
