I think it wouldn't hurt, in fact, it would probably help a bit; technically speaking, I probably don't NEED an Aero either, but you know how that one worked out.
IMO, anything that increases the engine temperature over the ambient temperature in the Toronto winter will be of benefit with regards to engine wear and fuel economy.
