Joe is certainly correct. There are a lot of uncertainties with any sort of body or paint work.
Will the color match _exactly_? Will there be overspray on my wheels/ tires/ interior? Will there be a run, or orange peel, or a crack after a few years? (I have 3 inch one in the paint of my Suburban door that was "fixed" about three years ago.) Will there be a fly stuck in it? Or dust? Will they put back the interior and exterior trim correctly? WILL IT STAY ON? This is my true nightmare - that a new paint job will start to fall off a few years down the road because the prep work was inadequate.
Ford had to repaint a bunch of pick-up trucks here in the USA due to just this problem. The paint would start to flake off after 4 or 5 years and the only cure was to completely sand the vehicle down to bare steel and start over. They traced the problem to the Ford paint shop, where workers' underarm deoderant (aluminum chlorohydrate) was drifting onto the metal when they prepped it for the primer coat. Yikes!
Anyway, if there is a cheaper, faster, easier, more satisfactory way to fix the dent than repainting, why risk any of these unknowns? It is really a no-brainer. Any reputable body shop will fix any goof-ups, but it is still a lot of trouble for you. The main problem is that too few people are even aware that these paintless dent repair shops even exist.
Talk to the local Jaguar or Porsche dealer - I'll bet they can refer you to a good shop.
