but unfortunately they sent 205/55-16, when I ordered 215/55-16. Hmm... I'm debating whether to send them back and get the 215s. When I place the 205/55-16 next to the OE 225/45-17, they look to be almost the exactly the same height, which is a good thing for maintaining speedo calibration and steering/suspension geometries. My owner's manual says that the Aero can wear either size.
However, I was thinking the 215s might be good for gaining a small amount of ground clearance, and I think Stephen Goldberger was saying that the 215s have increased load capacity. On the other hand, the narrower 205-section tire should be better at cutting through the snow, and might offer marginally better fuel economy (less aerodynamic drag, less rolling resistance) and better slightly better hydroplaning resistance (narrower contact patch means less water to evacuate).
TG, would you mind checking the load capacity on the sidewall of the 215 Gislaveds? How about clearance, is the increase in ground clearance noticeable?
Thanks,
Jason
