Glad to read about Joe and saabster's new Saabs congrats..
Our two '03' Saab Linears were delivered just two weeks ago
and we became part of one of life's Minor tragedies.
Two great vehicles, my white wagon and my wife's black sedan.
We drove home from the dealer and parked in the garage. I
admired the black and white steel perfection. The moment
was short lived.
I left to return to work as the time was 3:00 pm. We had taken
a midday delivery. My wife called shortly after I had arrived at work.
I had enjoyed the short drive to work, despite the rain, in my new
95 wagon. The call from my dear wife was simply this " I had to
take the 9000 AERO on my appointment and your not going to like
what you see in the driveway. I want you to know I am really upset."
So, I got back in my new 95 wagon and drove home. The ride home
seemed less fun, somehow. When I got in front of our house, there
it was the new Black 95 linear sedan was off the drive backed over
a large rock. The front wheels on the ground & the rock beneath
suspending the rear wheels eight inches off the ground. Could you
just cry, 25 miles on the odo. I walked over to look and just to
punctuate the moment, the beginning of 3 hours of freezing rain
commenced. The rain was good, you couldn?t see me cry..
Solution: Later with my wife's help, as the driver, I used an eight foot
4x4 cedar fence post which had out back (every SAAB owner should
consider one in the toolbox, they can be handy) to carefully pry the
Linear from its rock perch. The rock was later jack hammered flat.
The Linear enters the body shop Monday for parts including a new
rear door. The impact was beneath the rear door and rocker panel.
Cost: $1700..
Could be worse.. :^) ..
