I'm a proud first time Saab owner joining the Saabnet fray. I've been lurking the past month, and think this is quite the resource for the Saab owner.

I bought a certified '99 9-5 SE with the 3.0 engine with 39,000 miles from the local dealer. I love everything about the car so far, including the excellent Saab service I have thus far received.

There is one thing I've observed with the V6 that I'm hoping others can weigh in on as to whether this is unique to me, or a normal characteristic of this engine...

Specifically, when coasting along with foot off the gas and gradually decelerating, I feel a slight, brief bump/shudder once at 40 MPH and then again at 30 MPH. Its similar to a rough shift. Shifting on acceleration is generally smooth...I only notice the vibration/shake while decelerating.

I brought it up with the dealership, and they cleaned out the throttle body and told me to drive it a few days and report back. Before I go back, I was hoping someone else may have had some experience with this. I generally run Mobil 1 synthetic ATF fluid in my cars, and am planning on doing a complete tranny flush and refill with the synthetic. If my shudder is a rough tranny downshifting thing, perhaps the new fluid will smooth things out?
