I'm in a similar situation. I recently had the following items fixed on my 9-5.
SID replaced (some pixels not lighting up)
New Thermostat (though this wasn't preventative... I had to have the car towed!)
light bulb for the dash display for the heated seat replaced - burned out.
Courtesy light on driver's door when opened replaced - burned out.
Glove-box door hinges adjusted and insulated - rattle
Driver's door speaker bracket R&R - rattle
Button cover for driver's seat power control replaced - broke off
Except for the thermostat, these are pretty minor items... though the rattle in the glove box door drove me crazy. The dealer actually found some of the items for me (such as the courtesy light on the door which I didn't even know existed).
I've found that extended warranties are pretty pricey. A pretty good deal appears to be available through AAA. They offer a 2-year bumper-to-bumper extended warranty for the 9-5 for about $1,400. This is about half of what the dealer quoted me. Has anyone bought a AAA warranty? What has your experience been?
