The 6 cyl is an 5 speed automatic offering only. So if you want a manual gear box, you have to go 4 cylinder, at least in the markets that I am aware of.
Many Saabers are snobby about the 4 cylinder engine, and consider using the Saab 4 cylinder engine a purist idea. Both run well. The 6 cylinder 5 speed autobox is reported to be faster at launch than the 4 cyl manual Areo.
The 4 cyl engine is an easier DIY to maintain and cheaper if you pay for such services.
The 4 cyl manual will get better mpg's (5-6%) than the 6cyl and the 4cyl autoboxen.
