Real disapointed but not surprised with mxv4

It was my first day with some real snow in my 99 9-5 se. While I have not been thrilled with the Michelin mxv4's I was very disappointed today. I had decided to give them a try over the winter and replace them in the spring, now I am not to sure I should. If this was the best this car could do in the snow I would leave it home. Set in winter mode and taking it easy it was difficult to accelerate without engaging tcs. In normal it felt a little better, maybe I am not used to the winter setting.
Coming to a stop I activated the antilock several times when I would never had thought it would have been needed.
I figure it has to be the tires. I can't remember having this much difficulty with any car I have driven. Except one, with bald tires in the snow. This wasn't that bad, but it wasn't good.
Anyone else have this kind of problem with the mxv4?
