Steve,
Having just taken delivery of a 2003 9-5 Linear SW with premium package, I am thrilled with the car. I drove the Arc and while I enjoyed driving it wanted a manual transmission. If that isn't a interest in the manual transmission in the Linear (or Aero) I suggest driving the Arc. My impressions of the Arc was that it felt slightly heavier and less responsive than the Linear. I didn't drive the Aero because I didn't want to spend the extra money on the difference and the snow tires and didn't want to end up REALLY liking the added performance.
I find the Linear to be quick enough (yes I would like a radar detector for the holidays) and has enough power for my needs.
Lastly, my dealer (Main Line Saab) was happy with whatever car I was interested in and didn't try to push me towards any particular car (except for the red linear sw they had in stock).
Good luck!
Scott
