and the difference is striking, not that I still don't like certain things about my 9k but the 9-5 is a different beast. My Aero has 57,000 miles and it is an auto. The autobox has performed flawlessly and is manufactured by Asian/Warner as oppossed to the auto in your 9k which we're/are problematic, a different manufturer(ZF I think). I have had very little to complain about in the 9-5. The SID was replaced under warranty and that's been about it. Brake pads were replaced and tires will be after the snow changeover. It is going in tommorow for a check of the rear suspension so we'll see. All in all the 9-5 is a good upgrade to the 9k, much more reliable. The only thing is, IMHO the 9-5 style is a bit boring not really as original as the old 900's or 9000's, but that may be just my old age.
I think you'll enjoy the Aero, just make sure you know the history and the car is checked out completely.
Good Luck
