Personally, I would never mix tires. I believe it's a safety issue, as well as handling. Different tires grip differently, etc. What percent of the tread is worn? If it is much less than half I would recommend buying two new matching tires, and keeping the good one with 13K in the garage in case you need it. Or better yet, mount it for a spare. But then you will forever be buying two tires at a time. I've been in your situation, had tires that were about half worn and ended up buying a whole new set. I kept one of them, just in case. It's not cheap, but as they say, your tires are all that's between you and the road. Why take any chances?
Good Luck,
AeroLady
