I'm using 7" wide BBS rims that I snagged at the 2002 Saab Owners' Convention Parts Tent for - uhm, you don't want to know -
According to the tire specifications, however, you can go all the way down to a 6" size. What happens is the narrower rim puts a curvature into the sidewall, which results in a slightly softer ride and slightly less handling ability. "Slightly" is the operative word. For a half inch rim width difference, especially a half inch off the ideal (7" in this case), you'd hardly be able to tell. Comparing across the full range (6" to 8" in this case) would result in a noticeable difference, I'd think.
