Climate Control Problems

I'm having troubles with my climate control system. I live in NY where the temps have been in the single digits frequently lately. I find that the car is uncomforatbly warm even at temp settings below 64 F. This is definitely not right.
I've done some research and found an old thread on the same subject, but didn't see any clear resolution of the issue.
I'm getting ready to try and get the dealer to "fix" this problem and was hopeing that there may be some more insights from the list as to what the problem is.
Have there been thermostat issues?
Have the spliter valves (or air diverter flaps or what ever they are) been giving problems as has been suggested?
Any thing else?
This is really getting to be a pain. I love ACC systems, but this one is just burning me up!
Thanks in advance,
Dave
