was able to use the $15 Saab connector. There was a mating plug behind the radio/ACC unit it plugged into. The free wires coming out of the harness were then connected to the corresponding wires of the car kit harness. We also didn't need to remove the radio cage.
My radio was a B!%&*! to remove, though. The installer I went to finally had to call in the local Saab dealer to show him how to do it. For some reason it fits more tightly in the cage than others so the SID needs to be removed allowing the radio to be pushed from the rear when the radio removal tools are installed.
BTW, I was able to pick up the removal tools at Walmart for $4. AutoZone also carries them.
If PatO reads this, I believe you installed a Samsung as well. What microphone setting did you use. I think I'm using the low output setting. The transmission sounded ok when we tested it at the installers, but I noticed on reviewing a recorded message that the output was garbled. Could also have been due to lack of external antenna or poor signal in the area. If I'm using the correct pins however, I may go ahead and have an antenna installed.
Also Davepar -did you find the mount fits snug against the console. I have an 1/8" gap.
