Great car. I have just traded in my '00 Silver Aero for an '03 Steel Grey Aero, with the charcoal interior. I guess all the items that you mentioned are probably a matter of personal taste. I like the trunk button on the door, as opposed to in the glove box or on the floor like most North American cars. As for the remote, my old style will work from about 20' away. I don't have my new "all in one" yet so I can't comment. I noticed that they changed the rub strips in the '02 Aero. With the charcoal interior, this is not much of an issue (and with 2 young boys in the family, I would never get a vehicle with a light interior!). As others have mentioned, the dealer can adjust the door locks for you. I find the solid clunk reassuring. I never bothered to invest in the 6 disc changer, as I had one in my last car, and it was a pain. Plus, as others have said, I just keep forgetting to change the discs. Go to the Saab Catalogue and for $24.95 you can get a very nice charcoal leather CD case with the SAAB logo embossed on it.

I too have been incredibley impressed with the car. I don't think that it is luck that you haven't had any problems. My first 3 years of ownership were virtually problem free, and any minor issue was handled by my local dealer right away.

One long road trip I took involved a 975 mile round trip on a weekend, where my average speed was 72.8 mph (city driving plus some highway sprints up to 145 mph!!!! Whooo Hooo!)I too averaged a little over 32 mpg. It was incredible.

Happy motoring!

Tom
