The point I was trying to make is not whether or not this feature actualy works, but the idea of having it's control burried in Tech 2 land, and out of the control of the owner of the car. Personally,I think that even things like the door locking sequences, chirping, and other driver convenience features ought to be able to be changed by the owner without having to go to the dealer to custom program. Different drivers in a family sometimes swap cars, cars change hands within families, cars get sold. It is a pain to have this type of thing under the control of a third party.
I know that speed dependent volume works, but still do not think it should have to be tweaked at the dealership, and that the full range of adjustment could be put in the hands of the driver. quite frankly, dealers hate having to deal with this type of thing anyway, and often do not do exactly what the driver wanted in the first place.
