bill, only minor things I don't like about the 9-5...

yes, the wife probably will damage the front air dam, at least the lower lip. My wife was very careful with the car but she miscalculated the ice/snow pile when she nosed into an angle spot. The Aero front ground clearance is about 1" less than my 9000 Aero and you will scratch the bottom of the air dam even if you are really careful.

The 9-5 doesn't have a lot of cabin storage space, as I couldn't fit all the things we have in her old 9K into the 9-5. Also, I can't find a good spot to store some temporary trash, the old ashtray in the C900 or 9000 has ample room for discarded tissue paper and such.

The leather seat surface in the 9-5 does not seem to hold up that well as in the older Saabs. The leather seats in both of our 9K with a combined miles of 190K retain their shape much better than 2,000 miles in the 9-5. I believe Saab use a different type of leather in the 9-5, it is much softer and thinner but deforms much quicker.

The A, B, C pillars in the 9-5 are much thicker so they do tend to block more side views. I have found I am more confident about the passenger side view due to the angled/curved side mirror than the driver side. But I guess if you want a strong/safe car, you have to make these things bigger. I believe they make a curved side mirror for the driver side for other countries (not US legal due to DOT regulations) but that doesn't mean you can't put one in yourself.

As you can see, there really too many things to complain about. There are electrical issues, such as DI cassette etc. but as you own a C900, you are familiar with all the Saab quirks.

Oh, do get the Xenon lights, they are great to have, the auto dimming mirrors are nice, and the rear parking assist comes in handy at times.
