2001 9-5 - Britax Rear-facing Marathon Installation Que

I hope someone can give me some guidance; I have pretty much figured out that there is no LATCH system in my car, but there are tether anchors. Since my son's seat is rear-facing am I supposed to used those black bars underneath the driver and passenger seat with the blue tape on them? I am so confused! If that is the case, I am not sure how the "tether strap thing" connects to it. Both Britax's and Saab's directions are not clear.
In Saab's manual is states, "You must fasten such a child restraint (rear facing) with the three-point safety belt and the two underside anchorage tethers." Where are these tethers?? They go on to say, "The tethers should be fixed to the beam beneath the driver's and passenger's seat. The fixing points are color marked".
I am hoping someone who has already installed this kind of carseat can just give me some guidance in plain English (or maybe I'm overanalyzing this).
Thanks for your help!
Rhonda
