and got a full sized spare for the wagon, which is our road trip car. When I had the flat in the sedan, I put the flat tire back into the spare wheel well, and the trunk floor didn't go completely flat. It stuck out a few inches or so, which is why there is an expansion joint in the carpet near the back seats. It allows the floor to fold flat over a full sized tire. To keep one back there the entire time you would sacrifice a little bit of space. The wagon is set up differently, and one fits in there without impacting the luggage space.
