Thanks to all who replied. Here's the F/U: The dealer bent over backwards and worked on the car for two weeks. They were in constant contact with tech support. In fact, the tech rep from headquarters swung by to confirm all the work. The entire electrical system was retraced and cleaned, soldered if necessary, etc. The crank sensor, ignition switch and ECU (with new software) were replaced one at a time. Remember, no codes were found after the incident. The service manager drove the car for hundreds of miles (including wet weather) in an attempt to replicate the shutdown. In the end, no smoking gun was located, but the car has had one heck of a checkup. We've been driving it for two weeks without a problem. Keep those fingers crossed.
