very tight and a little high - question?

Thanks for the very detailed post. I went to install the 32.5 on my 2003 aero wagon, and the opening (drivers side)is snug enough so that the tabs stand 3/16 proud of the surface, and the dome that says "infinity" hits the grill if you try to lower it. I spent an hour with 80 grit sandpaper trying to enlarge the hole enough to drop it flat, made progress and had to quit, will go back to it with stronger medicine today. Is it okay for the dome (I did take off the black ring) to touch the grill when you close it up? Incidentally, if you take a red crimp fastener with a "u" tip and clip off one leg of the "u", it's a perfect fit for the female terminal coming from the amp. It looks like it will be at least as tight on the pass. side. What do the pros use to widen a hole in this tight a space under the windshield? Thanks.
